About APSI at Howard University

Howard University is an urban campus located in the northwest quadrant of Washington, DC. The Howard University School of Education is known for its educator preparation steeped in methods to effectively teach diverse populations.

Centrally located from six large urban public and public charter school districts in Washington, DC, Southern Maryland and Northern Virginia, we anticipate a high interest in our APSI beyond teachers in the local area. Teachers who attend the APSI at Howard University in 2024 will gain knowledge in culturally-affirming instruction that facilitates student success via the plenary sessions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take field trips to the Library of Congress, embassies, and other policy agencies in the District of Columbia to explore free resources they can use in the classroom to enhance the learning experience for AP students.
