Our candidates are engaged in graduate programs designed to develop competent visionary educational leaders for a global society. ELPS offers graduate degrees in educational leadership at the master’s and doctoral levels for future administrators, supervisors, principals, superintendents, and other leaders in public and non-public educational settings. The programs reflect Howard University’s commitment to addressing the needs of urban and diverse school systems by expanding the pool of diverse and well-prepared professionals. The faculty - through teaching, research and service - prepare candidates who possess the appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviors relative to leadership of complex organizations; can recognize and analyze the forces that impact education; are able to develop and implement best practices and decision-making; are skilled in effective outreach approaches for mutually rewarding outcomes; and are sensitive to the educational needs of underrepresented groups. We welcome your inquiries and feedback. Should you decide to join us, I hope that your time here will reflect personal growth, intellectual challenge, and high professional aspirations.
